´Tatu´ table light by Andre´ Ricard

We love the animated quality of this multi adjustable table light!

Named the´Tatu´it was designed by Andre´ Ricard for the Barcelona based, Spanish lighting company Metalarte.

Designed in 1972 the light was constructed of three elbow-shaped abs components, linked to a cylindrical base which  rotate freely to provide for an infinite variety of lighting requirements.

It was also equipped with a glass optical lens which was designed to create a concentrated beam for close up work.

With its futuristic look and lab like lens its no wonder it was included on the set of SPACE 1999!

Stamped on base ´Tatu patent pending´ Made in Spain, Design Andre´ Ricard.

Hello Peter. Thank you for your enquiry. The ´Tatu´ light by Andre´ Ricard sold some time ago. Please feel free to view our Online Store frequently to keep up to date with all our latest mid-century items.

  • Anna:

Can you tell me how to open the TATU lamp? And how to change the bulb?

    • lawrence:

Hello Anna. To remove the lens of the TATU light and replace the bulb you have to twist and pull the black section which houses the lens. You have to be a little forceful as this section is held in with metal clips. Once you have removed the lens you will be able to remove the bulb from its socket easily. Bulbs are a low watt, car type bulb which can be found in most automotive sections in hardware stores. Hope this is of help.
