We have just restored this beautiful solid teak lounge chair by Fredrik Kayser (Norwegian 1924-1968)
Born in Bergen and educated at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry. He was especially known for elegant and sculptural designed chairs. We think the newly upholstered cushions in a teal Scottish tweed wool contrast very effectively with the sculptural teak form.

Just in time for Valentines Day!
We are excited to show this rare and iconic Heart Cone chair by Danish Designer Verner Panton.
In the mid-1950′s, Verner panton converted a Volkswagen bus into a mobile studio and travelled across Europe. In 1958 he returned to Denmark full of unconventional ideas… one of which evolved into the iconic Heart Cone Chair. Defying gravity, the cone was both futuristic and shocking… so much so that when it was exhibited in a shop window in New York City police had to order its removal due to the traffic chaos its presence created. The Heart Cone Chair takes its name from its unique heart-shaped silhouette!
This beautiful chair is currently part of our Valentines Day window display along with other great examples of design. All in Mid-Century Red naturally!

Just in time for Spring!
Relax in these beautiful organic ‘Vegetal’ chairs designed by French duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.
Designed in 2008 and made by renowned Swiss manufacturer Vitra these sculptural outdoor/indoor stacking chairs were inspired by historical gardens of the 20th century, where young trees grew into furniture like structures through continual care and deliberate pruning.
Made from a high density weather resistant polyamide, the ‘Vegetal’ features flat branch structures woven in three levels to form a round slightly irregular seating shell. On the underside, the chair is stabilized by ribs that form out of the supportive legs.
The end result being a chair that appears to have been grown rather than made!
