Now available at Atomic these fun Hang-On Coat Racks by UK designer Jade Barnes-Richardson.
Hang On is an unpretentious and humorous coat rack that is accessible and easy to decode with its oblique expression.
UK based Jade Barnes-Richardson has taken the archetypal coat hanger and created a new and exciting piece of furniture from an original idea. Inspired by how clothes, overcoats and other accessories are often dumped around the home, Hang On is a coat rack consisting of a collection of several coat hangers. Chaos and useful order at the same time!
Hang On is available in a vibrant Cobalt blue, Canary yellow and Dove grey.
These beautiful steel bowls with vibrant coloured interiors were originally created in 1953 by Danish metalware designer Herbert Krenchel. In 1954 the Krenit bowl won a golden medal at La Trienale in Milan. Now considered an iconic Mid Century design these bowls can be found displayed in museums and countless Danish and international design homes throughout the world.
Herbert Krenchel says: “In 1953 the idea was to make a beautiful bowl, preferably so functional and delicate that it was equally suited for use in the kitchen, on the dining table and as a decoration in the sitting room. As a material researcher I really concentrated on getting the different materials to match and look good together as well as making them equally compatible to use together.”
Now more than 50 years after Herbert Krenchel, designed the Krenit bowl, the original minimalistic design has been re-launched in four sizes with a myriad of beautiful colour choices.
The Krenit bowl collection is now available to view at Atomic 965 Queen St West.
The collection will also be available to view and purchase through our Online Store shortly.
Since Atomic opened its doors in 2008 we have endeavored to show beautiful and unique modernist jewellery.
We thought that you would appreciate these striking paper Pyramid displays recently made for us by Origami expert Alex Yue
We love the simple yet versatile shape of the Pyramid and the contrast that is created by the flat black of the paper with our shiny modernist baubles.
It is also our great pleasure to announce a new addition of contemporary ‘Geometric’ silver jewellery to our collection by silversmith Breanne Morrow of White Feather Design.
Wishing all our clients a Happy Valentine’s Day!
We thought that you would fall in love with our ‘Permanent Guest’ mannequin that seems to have taken up residence in our window display.
Made in Italy in the 1970′s this life size figure was designed as an art piece to have lounging in different positions in residential interiors.
Our stylish guest has been constructed so that each joint can be manipulated so that he/she can sit, stand, bend and lounge accordingly to accommodate the furnishings of the room.
Imagine a ‘Permanent Guest’ that never outstays his/her welcome!
